Our verdict: Grown-up, beautiful and calm, and still welcoming to small kids: donkeys, olive groves and a heated indoor pool for cooler days.
Restored 16th and 17th century manor houses in the artists’ village of Deià, between the Tramuntana mountains and the sea. Calm, grown-up and beautiful, and our family of four fitted in one room.

- It is calm and grown-up: wonderful, but not a splash-and-slide resort.
- Restaurant tables are hard to get in summer, so book ahead.
